Forms have become an integral part of running an online business. The contact us forms in the websites are fast fading away and are mostly replaced by conversational live chats and if specific information is needed from the visitors, by structured forms and surveys.

There are many ways to build forms and get responses. Google forms is perhaps the easiest and free option, but the design and customization capabilities are limited for most small businesses and entrepreneurs.

Typeform, Wufoo, Jotform, and Paperform are among the well known in this segment and each has its own pros and cons depending on specific use cases.

AidaForm is one of the newest entrants. How it stakes up against the competition? Let's find out.

Dashboard and UI

Once the sign-up process is done, we are greeted by the dashboard. The super minimalistic and clean user interface is really impressive.

The next step is to name your form and then to either start building the form from scratch or from a set of existing templates.

Aidaform form type

There is a really wide range of available covering various industries and what the form is built to archive.

Aidaform templates

Once a blank form or a template is selected, it then goes to the form builder, where the form can be built in an easy to use drag and drop interface.

There are essentially three important sections in the interface that are important to build the form. The top section has two rows of which the first has the option to toggle between the builder to build the form and results to see the statistics of the form after it is published.

The second row has three tabs namely create, setup and publish. Create is the option where you build all the elements for the form, setup lets you change or save all the settings for the form and publish lets you save all the link settings.

The left section of the builder has all the elements that can be dragged and dropped to the main canvas. The right section has all the design settings to configure the form based on your brand color.

In the setup tab, there are quite a few things that can be done. The general settings has the option of the Thank you page, where a default thank you page can be set after a user submits the form and it can lead to a specific URL.

The parameters for SEO like page title and description can be entered in the SEO setting if you would like the form to rank in search engines.

Traits is the setting where the form can be changed between a traditional UI or a conversational UI. A conversational UI is the type of questionnaire form where the user has only question to respond to and upon answering that will be redirected to the next page in the form.

Pricing

There is a generous free plan with unlimited forms and surveys but limited to 100 responses. There are two paid plans, lite, and pro costing $9 and $19 a month respectively.

It is good to see the feature roadmap mentioned on the pricing page along with the expected dates. Video questions and quiz calculations are two very interesting features to look forward to.

Support

There is no live chat either on the website or inside the app. However, the response time for any support query was quite quick.

The help and how-to documentation are quite good with some extensive tutorials.

Alternatives

Typeform and Paperform are obvious and well-known alternatives, but they are way more expensive as well.

If you are looking for a free or affordable paid plan then Wispform is a great option.

The free plan covers upto 1,000 responses per form and the paid plan with a lot more features costs just $10 a month or $8 a month when paid yearly.

Conclusion

Is it a good form builder? Definitely yes. Will it replace the likes of TypeForm, PaperForm or Wufoo? At this current stage, not for everyone.

However, the initial impressions are extremely positive with an excellent builder and feature set. Once more integrations are added, there is huge potential to give the market leaders a run for their money.

Considering the cost is half of most of the other well-known options, AidaForm is definitely worth a try.
