One of the biggest challenges for a marketing agency while scaling up is effective client reporting.
It is the principal means by which you could display the value of your agency and the work you are doing in the background to get the results for your clients.
However, generating reports is a repetitive and tedious process. In most cases, you have to pull in data from multiple sources and tools to generate reports for each client.
When the agency is scaling and you are dealing with multiple clients, this becomes a hugely time-consuming task taking away valuable time that you can spend to grow your agency further.
There are some tools however to completely automate this reporting process and save tons of time for an agency owner. Oviond is one such tool that looks quite promising.

Once the sign up is completed, the first step is to add a client with the information of the client's name, website and default currency.
Clients can also be listed under separate folders for better organization. If your agency has clients in many different industries and niches, this is a neat feature to search easily.
The next step is to add the data source you want to pull the data from for making the reports and dashboards.

Note that many of these integrations are still in beta and some minor issues are expected. However, overall it is a good array of integrations available covering most of the marketing spectrum.
There is a live page of all the integrations that are planned and which are currently live. It is good to have a look here to make sure the app you want is in plans if it is not available yet.
Dashboards and reports
Once the client account is added and the necessary integrations are connected, you will be able to build the dashboards.
It is possible either to start from a blank dashboard or there are many great looking templates available to start from based on your integrations.
The dashboards are really beautifully designed with a clean and minimalistic look to it with all the important data points and graphs displayed elegantly.
You can add additional data widgets, text box elements, images and save it as a custom template to be used for other clients as well.
Once completed, the dashboard can be shared with the client via a unique URL.
Reports work similar to the dashboard, except that it can be downloaded as a PDF in A4 format with a cover page added.
There are quite a few templates to choose for the cover page and thank you page in the report. It is also possible to hide or remove the cover page completely.
It is important for an agency to get the reports branded in their colors and logo. Oviond lets you completely customize the look and feel of the reports with your brand colors and logo.
It is extremely simple to set everything up and match the dashboards perfectly to your taste.
This is a huge time saver as it completely automates the communication of reporting with your clients.
Just enter the client's email address, select the dashboard or report name, edit the email message and subject to send the desired report or dashboard all within Oviond.
Images can be added to the email body right inside the editor for an added degree of personalization.
The reports can also be scheduled and automated to be sent at a specific time interval you can set for each client.
There are three plans in total starting from $99 a month to $399 a month. The main difference between the plans is the number of clients.
It is good to see that unlimited user accounts are available across all the plans making it perfect for agencies.
While all the plans come with white labeling, custom domain set-up is not available in the basic freelancer plan.
Octoboard is a fantastic reporting tool for marketing agencies. With more than 200 predefined report templates and 50+ integrations, it covers the client reporting requirements of most of the agencies.
The reports and dashboards can also be hosted on your own website. Additionally, Octoboard has some unique features like a free SEO audit reporting tool for clients, analyzing for positive trends in the analytics and ability to select positive data trends in the client reports, etc.
Databox is one of the market leaders in the reporting space for agencies. It is a highly matured product with a huge array of integrations and templates.
It offers an excellent free plan for up to 3 data sources, 3 users and 3 dashboards. With more than 70 integrations and a library of more than 3,000 data blocks, it makes it extremely easy to build eye-catching reports.
Supermetrics is an extremely powerful reporting tool for advanced level users.
The way Supermetrics works is that it pulls the data from different data sources into tools like Excel, Google Sheets, Google Data Studio, BigQuery, etc.
With more than 50 data sources, Supernmetics is one of the most flexible reporting solutions for marketing agencies.
Greymetrics is a fairly new product that offers similar features with some additional integrations like HubSpot, Callrail, Moosend, Quora Ads, Bitly, etc. to name a few.
Additionally, Greymetrics also comes with client portals.
Live chat support is available on both the website and within the dashboard. Although the support times were not very quick, I was able to get the answers to my queries.
There is a good level of help documentation and also many tutorial videos on the official YouTube channel as well to refer.
A public roadmap is available as well to suggest new ideas or vote the features or integration you need to be added.
For an agency, will Oviond be of help in reporting?
It is a fantastic product with some beautiful templates and very useful report scheduling features. More integrations are needed to get the best out of the product to be a fit for all types of marketing agencies.
However, the current list of integrations available will cover the majority of the marketing agencies and their use cases and if you find the integrations you need available currently, it is a great tool to invest in.
